GOOD ART ROONEY
(Good King Wenceslas)

Art Rooney back in '33 went down to the track.
He bet upon the races, the jockeys on horseback.
He won a couple thousand bucks and from the cash that day,
Bought himself a football team, 'least that's what they say.

He named his team the Pirates, like the baseball team.
They played their games at old Forbes Field to start our football dream.
The Pittsburgh squad got Johnny Blood and Whizzer on the team.
Now they had to win some games to become supreme.

In nineteen forty Art decreed the team's name had to change.
And to be just like our town, the Steelers we became.
He liked to smoke a toby when he watched his Steelers play,
And the Pittsburgh fans turned out, each and every Sunday.

Some forty years we had to wait to win the Super Bowl,
And then we won it three times more, our head coach was Chuck Noll.
All the time Art led the way, and he was heard to say,
Pittsburgh is the greatest town, that's where my Steelers play.

PITTSBURGH IS PLAYING
(Christmas is Coming)

Kickoff is coming, the Steelers they will play,
Bring to me some peanuts, on the couch I must stay,
Bring to me some peanuts, on the couch I stay.

Pittsburgh is playing, I hope that we will win,
If we are not winning, then please let us tie.
If we are not tying, then we all may cry!

TOUCHDOWN TIME
(Jingle Bells)

Dashing through the line, a blocker leads out front,
A broken field tackle, defense had to stunt,
When the whistle blows, play comes to an end,
But when the center snaps the ball we'll run the play again.

(Chorus:)
Touchdown time, touchdown time, six points hear the roar,
Oh what fun it is to run in the end zone for a score,
Touchdown time, touchdown time, here's a spiral pass,
Love those Pittsburgh Steelers, a football team with class.

Here the kickoff comes, we'll catch it at the three,
We'll run the ball right up the field, such a sight to see!
Blockers form a wedge, return man's broken free,
The Steelers scored a touchdown now
And there's no penalty!

Chorus

Stewart has the ball, the end zone is in sight,
He's gonna have to pass it in, to win this game tonight.
But the blitz was on, he scrambled up the field,
And scored another touchdown, a victory was sealed!

Chorus

IN PITTSBURG WE MUST NOT FORGET
(Auld Lang Syne)

In Pittsburgh we must not forget
The seasons long ago.
Art Rooney owned the football team
And his head coach was Chuck Noll.

His head coach was Chuck Noll, my dear.
His head coach was Chuck Noll.
With Terry Bradshaw and Joe Green,
They won four Super Bowls.

Immaculate Reception,
Was the greatest ever play!
When Franco Harris caught that ball
A stunning catch that day.

A stunning catch, it was my friends
A stunning catch that day.
To beat the Oakland Raiders,
I remember it today.

So raise a mug of Frothingslosh
Yes, raise that mug you see.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are my team,
Here's to a victory.

Here's to another victory,
But not from long ago.
Cause we will win it once again,
A Pittsburgh Super Bowl.

IMMACULATE RECEPTION
(God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)

It was the football playoffs, way back in seventy-two.
Twenty-two seconds there were left, what could the Steelers do?
Fourth down and no timeout, a touchdown far away,
They got into the huddle and Bradshaw called the play,
Would it be the one to save the day?

The ball was snapped, the Oakland team, they rushed with all their might.
The Pittsburgh fans began to roar, it really was a sight.
Bradshaw got the ball away, they smashed him in the ground.
His pass was up the middle but was his target found?
Bradshaw, he was smashed into the ground.

Some say that Frenchy touched it, or that Tatum he was there,
The ball deflected backwards, it was hardly in the air.
When Franco Harris grabbed it, an amazing shoestring catch,
To go down in history, the fans will tell the rest,
Harris made the greatest Steeler catch.

The refs weren't really certain how to rule the catch that day.
They gathered 'round a TV set to watch it be replayed,
And finally, with arms raised high, a touchdown they did call,
And so the Steelers won the game, the Raiders they did fall,
When the Steelers got the touchdown call.

Old Myron Cope, he used the phrase that lasted to this day,
Immaculate Reception was the name they dubbed the play,
The game was won, the crowd did cheer, and we did celebrate,
Franco Harris made the catch, our Steelers, they are great,
The Pittsburgh Steelers we will celebrate.

GO PITTSBURGH
(Sing Noel)

Win Steelers, win Steelers, win Steelers.

OVER THREE RIVERS
(Over the River)

Over three rivers and through the town to the stadium we go,
The kick off is at one o'clock, the cold wind it will blow,
Over three rivers the traffic is tight, oh hurry, daddy, please!
Remember where we park the car, I think we're in Lot 3.

Over three rivers before the game, it's time to tailgate,
Kielbasa cooking on the grill, please put one on my plate,
Soon the Steelers take the field, Kordell will lead the way.
The Bus will score a touchdown, and then we yell hooray!

OH COME AS THEY SCORE TOUCHDOWNS
(Oh Come All Ye Faithful)

Oh come all ye faithful,
To the town of Pittsburgh,
Oh come to the city where the mills used to be.
Come and behold them,
Those who wear the black and gold.
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
The Steel City team.

Oh come see Coach Cowher,
Lake and Steed and Kirkland.
At Three Rivers Stadium the Steelers will play.
Home of Jack Lambert, home of Swann and Harris,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
The Steel City team.

Oh come now from Ridgeway,
Mercer and Franklin,
Somerset and Lewiston
to Pittsburgh we go.
Come now from Beaver,
Johnstown and Emporium.
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
Oh come as they score touchdowns,
The Steel City team.

JOLLY TERRY BRADSHAW
(Jolly Old St. Nicholas)

Jolly Terry Bradshaw, pass the ball this way,
You led the greatest football team, this is what we say.
We drafted you at number one, when we were the worst;
We had to show improvement, we wanted to be first.

Jolly Terry Bradshaw, your rookie year was tough.
The critics and the media said you lacked the stuff.
The first three games that you played, in the end zone you were sacked.
NFL experience was really all you lacked.

Jolly Terry Bradshaw was a leader on the field.
Your touchdown bombs to Lynn Swann, the championships they sealed.
The Immaculate Reception, the greatest ever play:
When Franco Harris caught the ball for a touchdown on that day.

Jolly Terry Bradshaw beame the MVP.
You threw the perfect spiral pass for all of us to see,
And we played four Super Bowls, the victories we won,
Though we had a secret wish, one more for the thumb!

Jolly Terry Bradshaw, now you're on TV,
Sundays on the network, with Howie and J.B.
Your hair is getting thinner, but that's okay with me,
Because you are the quarterback who brought us victory.

WE WISH YOU A PITTSBURGH CHRISTMAS
(We Wish you a Merry Christmas)

We wish you a Steeler Christmas, we wish you a Steeler Christmas
We wish you a Steeler Christmas, and a Super Bowl year.
Glad tidings we bring, but first a cold beer.
We root for the Steelers, so let's win it this year.

Remember Frenchy Fuqua, remember Rocky Bleier,
Remember L. C. Greenwood, with a great Steeler cheer.
Glad tidings we bring, from the Black and the Gold,
With hard hits and tackles, like the defense of old.

And how 'bout the Steel Curtain, it left all the others hurtin',
And one thing we know for certain, 'twas a great football team!
Glad tidings we bring the all football fans.
We cheer for the Steelers when we sit in the stands.
